Eco-Friendly Shoes

Being green means passing the benefits onto others, which is why I recommend TOMS vegan shoes. They help those in need by giving a pair to a child in need for every pair you buy!

Just continue reading below our sponsored ads for some tips and advice on eco friendly fashion and going green.

In my series ‘Donate Clothes’ I have already touched on why you should do it. When you donate clothing you also need to know the practical issues, so this serves as a quick guide. Feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments!

What You Need

Your old clothes, shoes, accessories etc. and a plastic bag or box.

What to Do

1) Sort through all your clothes, leaving aside anything that doesn’t suit you anymore, doesn’t fit, you don’t like, will never wear, or is damaged and un-wearable. Think about whether anyone you know could benefit from these items. If not, they are going to be donated!
2) Clean up anything that needs cleaning. Wash things if possible. This is just as a way of being courteous to those who will have to sort through it and sell it.
3) Pack your clothes neatly folded into your bag or box and donate them.

Where to Donate

1) Clothing Bins: These can be found on high streets, in supermarkets and more. Just pop the clothes through the hole and you’re done!
2) Individual Charity Shops: Although the clothes from clothing bins also goes to charity shops, you can choose the specific shop you want to donate to by donating to them in person.
3) Online: There are now many online resources that can help you donate clothing (see below).

Conclusion

If you still aren’t convinced about whether to donate clothing then just have a read of Part I – An Introduction to Clothing Donations, and Part II – A Few Clothing Donation Tips to see why it’s so important. I haven’t even touched on the benefits of recycling clothes when it comes to your eco chic style. Subscribe to Eco Friendly Fashion by Eco Empress stay updated.
