Green clothing is a term that’s becoming more and more popular these days. Designers are coming to realise that there is a lot that’s attractive about marketing ‘green clothes‘ to buyers. However, you need to know what it really means in order not to fall for cheap marketing gimmicks!
If you are looking to buy green clothes then the good news is that there is a lot out there for you to buy. Even high street brands are now coming out with green clothing lines, but there is the risk that this could be a ploy to make more money and not really a way of helping the environment. To make sure that what you’re buying really is green, you need to bear a few factors in mind when shopping for it.
Green Means Expensive
Green clothes do not have to be expensive! This is the biggest problem with green designers, thinking that they have a right to charge the earth simply because their clothing is eco friendly.
Think about this – green clothes also means eco friendly, and as such second-hand, vintage, or recycled clothes count as green! And these will normally only cost a fraction of buying new clothes.
