Throughout the last few Tuesdays I have been writing about recycled fashion, and how to go through your wardrobe to decide what you should keep and what should be given away in the form of donations. This helps the environment by making use of existing materials rather than new ones.
Here is a quick guide to the basics of each individual post:
1. Sorting through what you have – This is extremely important. Try on each item, look it into the mirror and put it into a pile to donate if it doesn’t suit you anymore.
2. Thinking about what you really wear – Even if it still suits you, it might not be your style any more. Think hard about if you’ll ever wear it. If the likely answer is no then it has to go. Be ruthless!

3. Leave out a few exceptions – Some items are important, so can be exempt from donating. But don’t use this as an excuse to keep everything you own! Only keep the really memorable items. Even if you get rid of the others, you’ll still have the memories!
4. Choose some things that can be altered – Some of your clothes that may have been damaged or that you may have earlier put in the donate pile can actually be altered. It doesn’t take a sewing genius to make simple alterations!
5. Keep some things, replace some things – Now you have reached the end, the good news is that you now have a wardrobe full of valuable clothes! Replace basic items that you need, but otherwise try to recycle clothes you already have as much as possible!
Recycled clothing isn’t too hard – it just takes a bit of time. But it is worth it, now you’ve done your bit for charity as well as your wardrobe!
