In my articles talking about recycled fashion I am trying to give you the inspiration to donate what you really don’t need, or start recycling it yourself. Recycled fashion is eco friendly because it makes use of old materials instead of buying new ones!
Read Part 1 Sorting Through What You Own! and Part 2 What Do You Really Wear? before carrying on.
I keep repeating the fact that you really must be ruthless when it comes to sorting through your wardrobe, but it can get quite depressing fast. And eco beauty or fashion needs to make you happy! Although the aim is to get rid of clutter and only keep the bare essentials, there might be a few items you can keep.
What Is Exempt from the Ruthless Rule?
Being ruthless is the key to recycled fashion donating because otherwise you’ll never do it! But in your search you are probably going to come across a few items that have special meaning for you.
If you pull out an item and instantly remember all the good times you had when you were wearing it then you might be allowed to keep it. You should remember that memory is not an excuse to hold onto everything, so these items need to be really special to be exempt from the donate rule. After all, recycled fashion means doing your bit for the environment and that sometimes means letting go!
Your closet will always be full of items that have meaning. But if they really can do nothing else for you then it might be best to let go.The most important thing in eco beauty or fashion is that you do good for the world, but always remember to do good by yourself too!
Keep checking back for the next post about changing a few items into new ones! The next post is a week today!
