I have finally reached the last post of the ‘Recycled Fashion’ series, all about making the most of what is already there instead of buying new. If you need to you can catch up on the series with Part I: Sorting Your Stuff, Part II: What Do You Really Wear?, Part III: Any Exceptions?, and Part IV: Altering Items.
Now that you’ve really, properly gone through all of your clothes you can start to think about how to put a wardrobe together that you will actually make the most of.
What You Really Need
Every wardrobe has its staples. But if yours doesn’t, then you might find you’re needlessly spending money on new clothes that you’re just never going to wear.
Think about whether you have that great pair of jeans that you can wear almost everyday. If you don’t have some like this, you should ONLY settle for the best next time you’re shppping for them. Why? Because one expensive pair of jeans is a lot more valuable than 15 cheap pairs that will never see the light of day.
You should also get rid of some things that you’ve kept because they’re brand new. Even if they’re new, if you never wear them they aren’t worth anything! You can sell these now, and from now on be really careful not to fall victim to sales and sweeping trends. You need wardrobe staples that will work well with the clothes you already have.

Now Think About Everything You Still Have!
You’ve been really tough on yourself sorting out your clothes, so now it’s time to step back and focus on all of the great things that you still have! The great thing about this is that almost every single item in your wardrobe should be fabulous, something you’re excited about wearing!
