If you are planning to go green since everyone seems to be doing the same thing, you might want to start with some easy and simple tips for green living. You do not want to start with huge steps to green living such as using solar panels at home or inventing some eco-friendly objects. These might be too difficult for a beginner like you. You should read the following tips for green living to get you started. You might even be doing some of them already.
- Buy organic vegetables or fruits that are produced by local farmers in your area. They are fresher, cheaper, safer, and more natural than imported produce. Aside from this, they have low carbon footprints because they did not require shipping and farmers did not use chemicals fertilizers on them.
- Instead of buying new books from bookstores, go to your local library and borrow books. You will save money and at the same time trees because other people can reuse the book over and over again, compared to a newly-bought book which will only collect dust in a bookshelf after you finished reading it.
- This is a cliché but it is very important and many people still neglect doing it—save water. The example is also a classic. When brushing your teeth, do not let the water run from the faucet. Turn it off if you are not going to use it and just turn it on if you are done brushing your teeth and you only need to rinse your mouth from toothpaste.
